The dream beaches of the Saronic Gulf
Are you looking for captivating beaches close to Athens? These are the heavenly beaches to visit at any price during your boat holiday:
Moni Island, Aegina (Aegina)
The island of Moni, opposite Aegina, whose only inhabitants are animals, is a corner of paradise for lovers of nature, the sun and the sea.
The bay to the north of the island with its fine sandy beach and emerald coloured waters will make you want to dive in immediately!
Love Bay (Limanaki agapis), Poros
Love Bay is located on the south side of Kalavria, the largest of the two parts of Poros Island.
As its name suggests, “Love Bay” is a small romantic cove, popular with couples for the beauty of its landscape.
The contrast between the blue-green of the water and the white stones gives it a peaceful and charming atmosphere.
Chalkiada Beach, Agistri
Agistri’s beaches are each one more beautiful than the other, but we prefer Chalkiada, an isolated and unorganized rocky cove known for its crystal-clear waters and wild and rocky landscape.
Thanks to its difficult access by road (only on foot), Chalkiada is the perfect beach in Agistri when you are looking for a little more tranquility, while enjoying the surrounding beauty.
Note that Chalkiada is also appreciated by nudists!
Zogeria Beach, Spetses
Zogeria Beach is located at the northern tip of Spetses, in a pretty cove surrounded by a pine forest. According to some locals, Zogeria is the most beautiful beach in Spetses.
There is sand, rocks and pebbles, some deckchairs but above all a breathtaking landscape with a sea of crystal-clear waters!
A dirt road leads to a whitewashed chapel dating from 1853 and a traditional tavern.
Spilia-Hydronetta Beach, Hydra
To the west of the port of Hydra, Spilia (Greek for cave) is a vast area of rocks with concrete platforms arranged in solariums, much appreciated by tourists in summer. It is not exactly a beach but a very practical place to swim (especially if you are moored and do not want to move).
Spilia is a very nice spot with a breathtaking view of the azure blue sea and the port of Hydra. The rocky beach of Hydronetta, below the city’s Canons, is accessible by stairs from Spilia’s bar-restaurant.
After an afternoon of swimming, don’t forget to admire the sunset from the terrace!
